Steve

I was born a long time ago in a land now fallen into decay and ruin. Early on it was observed that I had a love for art, often getting reprimands from teachers that I should be doing my assignment instead of doodling. Despite this, I was still a fairly good student, and continued on to not only graduate from grade school, but also high school and, eventually, college (with a dual major in Fine Art as well as Visual Art). I have worked a variety of jobs, finally settling into a position in the mail fulfillment business, where I have been for over 25 years. Illness has sent me away from one path, and I now spend more time at home. I have returned to drawing as a form of therapy, and it is helping me keep my mind more at ease. So in this regard, I guess I should be happy that my inability to be around people translates to me being able to do more drawing to settle my emotional state. Hang around, and drop in to help me through this SAD and Depression... I will do my best to entertain you, as well as keep myself upbeat.

“No Nose…” Is Finished!

Whew! Wow, that was a whirlwind of an effort, but well worth it!  The story almost seemed to write itself—but wow, it had some pretty damn challenging panels to draw!  Overall, I am pretty pleased with the end result, and My Muse deserves a shout out! Thanks for the inspiration!

Here are two panels from the final page, printed without captions and out of order to prevent “spoilers”.

So what’s next?  I am thinking of a short story coupled with the vintage MicroComics as my next Amazon book.  Check back here for updates, Zapophiles!

Almost Finished!

Bighead, who IS NOT a superhero, but some kind of weird hybrid/ clone/science experiment, makes his reappearance in a huge fashion in the Zap-Man I am currently writing. He shows up in “I have No Nose, And I Must Sneeze”, and quickly grabs the spotlight! The book will be available on Amazon.com in a few months, after I have published another already finished (Darkest Night).

This latest story will also be the longest single story to date, clocking in at 30 pages!

The Last MicroComic…

Here is the last MicroComic I plan to “clean up”.  There are two others (one is missing- “The Clown Cried Blood”), and the other not worth doing at this time  (“The Riders”).

My plan is print half the MicroComics coupled with new material in one KDP Amazon book, then print the remaining half in a second KDP book.

Finally, these long lost classic will see the light of day again!

Here are the outside covers of the cleaned up versions of Praecox #2.

What Lurks Beneath?

My latest story- about 3/4 finished- has taken a distinctive HPL/Cthulhu slant.  Of course, the only way you can actually get the full story is to check out the Amazon.com digital book in a month or two.   And yes, this story will the be the very first FULL COLOR copy!

Yikes!  This may be more excitement than the average Zapophile can handle!  ; )

Long Out Of Print!

It’s back after over 30 years of being out of print…one of my all-time favorite stories I did for the short-lived MicroComics in the 1980’s!

“French Toast, Please!” has got to be one of my darkest and most grim tales I have ever written- yet oddly with enough humor to keep it from being utterly horrible.

I am not sure just when I will be reprinting it in its entirety, but probably in the not too distant future as an Amazon “Special Edition”.
